Update on Oaklander Alexis Hutchinson

If you’ve been following the story of Army Specialist and Oaklander Alexis Hutchinson, yesterday’s news of her military discharge comes as welcome news. Hutchinson received an other-than-honorable discharge, which means among other things that she will lose all future vet benefits, but she no longer has to face a court-martial trial and possible jail time.  It is reported that she, her family, and her attorney are happy with the resolution of the matter.

Hutchison grew up in Oakland, was part of the JROTC program, then enlisted after high school graduation.
