Join us on August 15 for an action at Chevron’s Refinery in Richmond. Meet at the Richmond Bart at 11:30am:
This just might be the largest coalition of organizations and people yet, joining together human rights and climate change folks with environmental justice, peace, and anti-corp folks. I participated in a direct action this spring at the HQ in San Ramon with people from all over the world affected by Chevron’s actions. A coalition of organizations produced an comprehensive alternative shareholders’ report that you can see at True Cost of Chevron.
Chevron is facing the largest environmental lawsuit this fall in Ecuador and the Richmond community here recently won a case to stop the expansion of its refinery to produce heavier crude oil. Now is the time to push forward to not only hold Chevron accountable, but to put alternative, low-carbon energy and conservation solutions at the forefront and to ramp up the pressure and public discourse prior to the Copenhagen talks in December.
See you in the streets…
